{silhouette promo & GIVEAWAY!!!}

I have an affiliation with Silhouette America, purchasing an item with the code KIERSTE helps support Simply Kierste. See full disclosure below.
Seriously...I LOVE giving Silhouette Portraits away!!!  Wahoo!!! You'll find all the details at the end of the post...
This month's promo is featuring fabric interfacing, which opens up a whole new world of fabric projects.  I was so excited when this product was first introduced, because it made my life SO much easier.  No longer was I painstakingly cutting things out by hand, nor was I limited to large, single letters that were easier to cut out.  I could actually cut out a whole name, in any font I wanted!  That's just the beginning...check out these darling projects!

  3. Ooh, how exciting!! Thanks for the cool giveaway!!! :)

  4. Patricia says:

    Oh I want one of these badly. The question I have is what is the difference between the portrait and the cameo? I’m not sure which I’d need. Thank you for the giveaway! :)

    • simply {kierste} says:

      The main difference is size…the Cameo cuts up to 12 inches wide, and the Portrait cuts up to 8 inches wide. The Portrait weights quite a bit less, and is easier for transporting from place to place, if that’s something you would do. Most everything else is the same—same software, ability, and product! If you have any other questions, please let me know!!!

  5. Kathy Kreger says:

    I can’t really afford the Cameo and I’m trying to figure out whether it’s worth it to buy a Portrait. A little worried about making envelopes with the smaller one. I mostly do greeting cards, not much scrap booking any more. Do you know the largest size envelope you can make with the Portrait? Any advice for me?

    • simply {kierste} says:

      You can cut up to 8 inches wide on the Portrait, and as long as you want!!! You can position any image/text differently to cut larger if you need to. For example, if I wanted to cut 12 inch tall letters, I would just turn them the other way around to cut them out. I don’t know if that makes sense or not–let me know, and I can send you a visual of the software. I’ve never made envelopes before, so I’m not sure I exactly answer your question, but knowing that it will cut up to 8 inches wide should give you an idea based on what you’re making now.

      If you think you can make it work for the envelopes on the Portrait, I would totally go for it. It’s at a pretty low price now, and much cheaper than the Cameo. If the Cameo wasn’t in my budget at all, I would buy the Portrait. If you’re interested in anything else like home decor, cutting vinyl, the Portrait does all of that too.

      Hopefully this helped–e-mail me anytime if you have more questions or want more detail. simplykierste@yahoo.com
