Peppermint?  Popcorn?  White chocolate?  YES!  Peppermint Popcorn Crunch is perfect for filling treat bags with, serving at a party or gathering, or just munching on!  It's incredibly easy to make (we're talking FIVE minutes, people!) and will be sure to please wherever you serve it!

I first started making this recipe years ago, using toffee bits  (which is also amazing), but one Christmas it dawned on me I could switch them out for peppermint, and I'm so glad I did!  I prefer using air popped popcorn, but you can use microwave popcorn--whatever you have! I also like to used chopped candy canes as opposed to crushing them, because I like to see and taste the pieces of peppermint.  It makes it pretty, and adds a little crunch!

I love how fast this is! I like to keep the ingredients on hand for a quick treat when guests stop by, an impromptu game night, or to eat while we're watching a movie. It's also fancy enough to put into clear treat bags and give as gifts!

Recipe type: Dessert
Ingredients
  • 6 cups popped popcorn (I use air popped)
  • 1-12 oz. bag white chocolate chips
  • 5-6 candy canes, chopped
Instructions
  1. Microwave the white chocolate chips in a glass bowl in 20-30 second intervals until melted through, and can be stirred through. Watch it carefully! Mix in the chopped candy canes (reserving a little), then pour over the popcorn and mix well, coating it all evenly. Spread the popcorn mixture on a cookie sheet lined with foil or wax paper, then sprinkle a little more of the candy canes over the top. Let it sit until the chocolate is firm. Break into pieces and serve!
