When I found out we were expecting our first baby, the very first thing I bought was a board book. I love to read, and I couldn’t wait to read to my own little one. Over the years we’ve added kids and books to our family, and I’m excited to share our best board books with you!
I love board books because they are so much heartier than other types of books. They get dragged around the house, tossed in the diaper bag, are brought on trips, stuffed in backpacks, read, and re-read thousands of times. They might get scuffed up over the years, but it’s much more difficult to tear out a page. We’ve read these books so many times I have the words memorized to most of them, and so do my kids. I love hearing them say the words before I even start reading, and it makes me smile to think how much they enjoy them. The love of reading starts very young, and these books are sure to please any baby, toddler, or child!
Looking for a baby gift or birthday present? Books are perfect!
Many of these books come in different forms, including paperback and hardback, and they are appropriate for ages older than babies and toddlers. All of my kids enjoy the stories in these books, and Pajama Time is a nightly ritual at our house! When I read Barnyard Dance, they can’t sit still–they stand up in a circle and act out all the words. Books carry memories, and some of my most treasured memories revolve around reading to my children. These books are our favorites, and I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
