Oh my goodness, the snow. The salt. The mud. The wet. The drippy. All of which I do not want brought into my house this winter! With no mudroom in our little apartment, I decided that we needed a shoe shelf just outside our front door, so all boots could be deposited there before coming inside. I had just been sent a Rockwell Bladerunner X2 Portable Tabletop Saw to try, and knew it would be the perfect first project!
Who knew that something as simple as a shoe shelf could make me so happy? :) It was such an easy project too. We screwed 2×4’s (two on each level) into 1 inch pine boards (for the sides)–to make three shelves– and then added the closet shelving for the boots to sit on top of after I painted the whole thing white. I chose the closet shelving because it can easily be cleaned and wiped off, and slats are close enough together for even the smallest of boots and shoes. It’s durable, and it looks nice.
And guess what? We were able to cut everything on the Bladerunner, even the plastic-coated wire closet shelving! How awesome is that?
The Bladerunner is pretty nifty–it cuts wood, metal, tile, aluminum AND plastic! You can use it in a variety of ways, and this one saw can replace several. It’s lightweight…weighing in under 15 pounds, so it’s to easy to move around and transfer as needed.
It’s a great addition to our workshop, and I’m looking forward to using it even more.
