4×4 Post Striped & Polka Dot Candlesticks

You probably all know by now how much I love polka dots and stripes. I've used them in lots of my projects, with two of my favorites being Peppermint Striped Candlesticks and Striped & Polka Dot Pumpkins. I love them so much that I simply couldn't resist making a set in brown & white for Thanksgiving table centerpieces.  They're easy, adorable, and really inexpensive--three of my favorite things!

Quick & Easy Chicken Pot Pie

I am all about quick and easy dinners.  Our afternoons are SO busy, and my favorite dinner recipes are the ones I can put together quickly, but are still yummy and healthy.  Over the years I've collected recipes that are tried-and-true, ones that I rely on often, and ones that I know I can whip up quickly.  Quick & Easy Chicken Pot Pie is one of those!  A dear friend shared this with me many years ago, and it's still a family favorite.

Old-fashioned homemade suckers | Halloween | simplykierste.com

Old-fashioned homemade suckers

Homemade suckers bring me back to my childhood. My mom would make them in different shapes and flavors, and we absolutely loved it. I thought it was time I introduced my own children to them, and the holidays are the perfect time to try them.  With Halloween coming up, I made some super cute homemade suckers shaped like bats, witches, scarecrows, and ghosts.  They are SO adorable and super easy to make.  LOVE!

I just love being able to make whatever kind of sucker I want to, and you guys, it is SO easy and fast! I whipped up this batch in less than 15 minutes, plus the cooling time.  I had completed suckers in about an hour, which is so awesome!

Back-to-school with Chobani

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Chobani. All opinions are 100% mine.

My twin boys started kindergarten this year.  sniff, sniff.  Every day when they get home, we talk about their school day, and I always ask what their favorite part of the day was.  Without fail, the answer is the same...lunch.  Their second favorite part of the day?  Snack.

School is hard work and makes for hungry kids, and as you can tell, and I love giving my kids both yummy & healthy lunches and snacks. Enter in Chobani!  I adore Chobani Greek yogurt, and I eat it just about every single morning.  When I discovered Chobani Kids® and Chobani Tots®, I was absolutely thrilled, and so were my kids!

They come in easy-to-eat pouches and tubes--which also makes them so much more fun to eat!   I like to keep the tubes in the freezer, then I'll pop them in the kids' lunches in the morning before school. By lunchtime they're ready to eat, and they are their own ice pack. Super easy!

They're also the favorite after school snack, and even my 2 year old, who doesn't even go to school, has to have one with her older siblings.

It's a snack I can feel good about--the pouches have 25% less sugar than the leading kids' yogurt, plus they're packed with 2x the protein!  They come in three yummy flavors--Strawberry, Grape, and Vanilla & Chocolate Dust--so there's something for everyone.  The fun packaging features Spider-Man and Doc McStuffins, and comes in dual flavor 4-packs. The tubes also have 25% less sugar than leading brands, and each one has a whopping 5 grams of protein! With flavors like Strawberry, Banana, Mixed Berry, and Watermelon, they can't be beat!

My cute 2 year old has been stealing my Chobani yogurt for a long time, and while I'm usually willing to share, now she has her own!  The Chobani Tots® Greek Yogurt pouches are designed for babies starting at six months. They're made with whole milk and provide 12 mg of omega-3 DHA. And they're delicious.  Just ask her!

Chobani Kids® and Chobani Tots® contain real fruits and vegetables, with only natural ingredients--no preservatives or artificial colors or flavors. They all contain less than 5% lactose, are gluten-free, and have live and active cultures and probiotics.

And...they're delicious.

For this mom, that's a win-win.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread | simplykierste.com

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

Would you believe I had NEVER made pumpkin bread before?  It's true.  Not one time. Until the last month, and I've made it four times! I'm usually not a huge fan of pumpkin (pumpkin pie, no thanks!), so I've just not thought I would like it.  Then my kids starting asking me about it, and so I decided to give it a try.  Oh my goodness....it is SO yummy!  I don't know why I ever waited so long!

Some exciting news…

I'm still pinching myself.

I'm sure the surreal feeling I have is going to last for a very long time, because whether I say it out loud or in my head it seems like there's no way it's really true.  But it is!

It's also the reason I've been posting a little less than usual, and why that will most likely be the case for the next few months.  It's been almost a week since my last post, and it's because I've been working like mad on my biggest project so far.

Here's a little hint...

One of our favorite Halloween traditions is making Haunted Gingerbread Houses, and we are now on our 9th year!  We love to invite friends over to join us, and make it a whole evening of fun--making houses, eating yummy food, and laughter around the campfire.  It's such a fun way to celebrate Halloween with your whole family--the kids love it, and so do the adults!
