One of our favorite family games is called "Don't Eat Pete". We love to play it on Family Night, which we have once a week on Monday evenings. It's a very simple but super fun game, and my kids especially love that they get candy. (Or mini marshmallows if I don't have any candy on hand!) This week I'm helping with one of my kindergartner's Valentine's Day party, and I knew this would be a perfect Valentine's Day game!
Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderfully merry Christmas with your family and friends! We've had such a lovely holiday, and received such thoughtful gifts from family and friends. On our list this week is sending thank you letters, and I created some adorable Christmas thank you stationery for my kids to use. They love having a fun template, and I wanted to share it with all of you too!
Remember that adorable black & white striped mason jar soap dispenser I made for Halloween? Well, I just couldn't resist making a red striped version for Christmas, and I'm in love! You can also fill it with candy and use it as a gift jar instead--they are both super cute, easy to make, and make darling gifts!
Did December sneak up on anyone else? All of a sudden, Christmas is less than four weeks away, and I don't know how it happened! There just seem to be years that are busier than others, for me, this is most definitely one of them. My book manuscript is due in a few weeks, and we are starting to really get into house stuff, so I kind of feel like this month is going to be a blur!
I love giving gifts to the people in my life, but since time is always a factor (especially this year), I'm all about fun & easy & cute ideas that I can put together quickly. This popcorn gift idea fits the bill, and is something that can be given to friends, neighbors, teachers, your hairstylist, postal carrier...anyone!
I'm totally thankful for pie. My ideal Thanksgiving is a small dinner then lots and lots of pie! To keep track of all those fabulous pies, I've made some fun "Thankful for Pie" printable tags. They're a super cute way to label all the different flavors or pie, and who made them!
I love receiving Christmas cards, and so does my whole family. My kids pore over the letters and pictures, reading them over and over again throughout the season. I also have a Christmas Memories Book, and I keep all of the cards we receive each year. It's so fun to look back over the years and see how our friends and family have grown and changed.
I also look forward to sending cards, and it's a tradition that our family loves to to together. Our Christmas card assembly line has been happening for quite a few years now, and it's just one of the things that we love to go together.
Today I'm sharing a few fun Christmas card templates...all you have to do is add your photo, and it's EASY and FREE to do!
We are huge popcorn fans at our house. HUGE. I won't tell you how many bags of popcorn kernels we have in our basement! It's the yummiest snack, and who can watch a movie without popcorn? With Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner, I was thinking of fun gift and party favor ideas, and I knew Paper Bag Popcorn would be perfect! Not only are they SUPER cost-effective, but they're totally adorable!
October is NEXT week, people. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like it was just June? The last quarter of the year is my most favorite, but it always goes the fastest. Here is upstate New York the trees are just starting to change colors, the air is getting a little more crisp at night, and all I want to do is bake apple pies and wear cozy sweaters! To quote Anne of Green Gables, "I'm so happy I live in a world where there are Octobers!" October also means Halloween, and I embrace all of the "cute part" of the holiday. It means darling costumes, candy, yummy food, jack-o-lanterns, trick-or-treating, and parties!
Hello there, fall!! It was a cool 59 degrees today, and I had my windows wide open, just soaking in all that lovely fall smell. It's going to get warmer this week again, but this little taste of fall definitely has me on the countdown. Fall brings on the beginning of the holidays, and most definitely my favorite time of year. It's full of friends, family, and giving!
There are always fun opportunities to give gifts during these fall and winter months, and I always love easy gift ideas, especially ones that will fit a budget. I've also discovered that a cute tag makes ALL the difference--add it to any gift, and it goes from drab to fab! I created a darling printable tag that's perfect for any fall gift!
I absolutely adore fall. It is my most favorite season, and I look forward to it all year long. The crisp mornings, yummy smells, brilliant leaves, cozy sweaters, warm fires, football games, pumpkin patches, cider mills, apple picking, bonfires, trick-or-treating, roasting pumpkin seeds, carving pumpkins...there just really isn't anything about it that I don't love.
Making a fall bucket list is a great way to really celebrate autumn, and it lets you take a look at fall as a whole--all the wonderful things there are to do and see! Fall means the start of the holidays, more time spent with family and friends, and the best four months of the year!
With my twin boys starting kindergarten this year (sniff, sniff), I will now have five kids to pack school lunch for. All of a sudden this past week that seemed like... a lot. We still have a couple of weeks until school starts, but I decided to get organized now!
I've always had some kind of lunch station, but the thought of 25 bags of chips, 25 fruit cups, 25 granola bars, 25 string cheese, and 25 go-gurt (plus sandwich stuff) per week really got me thinking about how I could create something to make the packing process a lot faster and easier. So...the official school lunch station has been created, including some super cute printables as the finishing touch. It's simple, but that's my favorite way to do things!
I was at Target (of course) and saw the cutest notebook paper treat bags. I immediately thought how fun they would be for all things school, and at first thought I would buy up a bunch to keep for throughout the year. But I would have to spend a fortune to do it, and I didn't really want to do that. Then I remembered I already had some plain white treat bags at home, and realized it would be super easy for me to make my own DIY version, anytime I needed them!
My kids love having something on their backpacks that identify it as "theirs". I created these super cute monogrammed backpack tags that are perfect for the new school year!
I know, I know, back-to-school stuff already??!! The summer is flying by, and even though we have a little more than a month before my kids are back in school (right after Labor Day), I know it's going to come fast. We are trying to stuff in everything we can, and working on whittling down our summer bucket list. Too many things, not enough time!
I'm also in my get-everything-organized-before-school-starts mode, and making these cute first day of school printables was on my list. I know some of you go back to school in August, so I thought I'd share them now!
