Easy painted flag window

Painted Flag Window | simplykierste.com

I've been in withdrawals over the last year. Since we moved to New York, all of our things have been in storage while we build our house, including my collection of old windows.  I haven't ad a chance to go looking for more, so when a friend very kindly gave me a few of hers, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with one of them.  Making  a painted flag window has been on my list forever, and I want to use it not only for holiday decor, but on a regular basis in my home.  Not sure where yet...but somewhere!  It was super easy to do, and I LOVE it! I'm already trying to figure out where I'm going to permanently put it in our house, but for now, it will be perfect for my patriotic decor … [Read more...]

I am in a couple Facebook groups of people who share their vinyl projects. I joined them to get ideas but it has been a motivator to use my machine more. Here's my step by step tutorial on making this wooden sign. I started with a 1x4 cut into 12 inch sections. I purchased a 6 foot board so I have enough to make 2 signs. My Home Depot and … [Read more...]

Picture ABC Books

picture abc books | simplykierste.com

One of my absolute favorite things to make for my kids is Picture ABC Books. I make them each their very own book, and it is most definitely a treasured possession. In their book, each letter of the alphabet is represented by a picture of them or someone in our family, so it's not a only a great way to reinforce the ABC's, but  also an adorable little mini memory book.  This month is my twin boys' birthday, and it's their turn for this very special gift! My kids LOVE to see themselves in pictures. We snuggle up on the couch or in their bed at night, and it doesn't matter how many times they've seen the pictures, they always ask me a million questions---what, why, where.  It's a piece of … [Read more...]
