Y'all know how much I love personalizing anything and everything, and what could be better than a darling key chain? (I sound so Texan with that "y'all", don't I? ☺ ) As soon as I saw the new chipboard by Silhouette, I knew it would be the perfect way to make one! Seriously people, isn't that SO cute??!!! I just want to carry around my keys all day! The front has darling scrapbook paper embellished with my stamped initial, and the back features a picture of my kids, which I LOVE. At my church, I get to work with the Primary children (kids aged 3-11), and I LOVE it. Mother's Day is just a few short weeks away, and this week I designed a super fun card that I think all their moms are going to love! I wanted to make a card where they could each express some favorite things about their mom. One of my best friends in all the world had a birthday this week. And not just any birthday...the big 30!!!! I left her 6 months ago when we moved to Texas, and I was SO sad that I was going to miss this milestone. I knew I wanted to send her something to really celebrate this particular birthday, and let her know how special she is to me. So...I made her a birthday jar! It's just a simple pint-size mason jar, but it's what's inside that really counts. I just love little buckets! They are one of my favorite ways to give a small gift, or package a yummy treat for a friend or neighbor. You can find them really cheap--my most successful places to check are in the Target one spot, or at the dollar store--both places they are only $1! Using fabric, or even ribbon, as a handle adds the most charming detail to any small pail or bucket ( LOVE those little knots on the sides), and it's an easy way to add in some color to match any holiday or season. If you are my mother, or my husband's mother, please do not read any further. ☺ Sometimes it seems like the years past faster than the days do, and capturing little handprints are like freezing a moment in time. When my oldest was small, I made an apron with his handprint on it for my dad for Father's Day. I don't know about you, but as soon as November 1st hits, it's full steam ahead for Christmas gifts and projects. So, I pulled out my trusty 2x4s and 4x4 posts, and went to work!2x4 Photo Block 2x4's are great because they'll give you more surface space if you need it. I was able to use pictures that wouldn't have worked on the photo cube, and still have space for the paper and text. These are perfect for personalizing, which makes them such great gifts. Whether it's dates, places, names, monograms, quotes, or handwritten notes from kids, you can make it extra special for the person you're giving it to. I {love} to give personalized gifts. There is just something about receiving a gift that you know was made just for you, and giving one is even more fun! Personalized notepaper is actually one of my most favorite gifts to give, and the most requested from my mom. She {loves} to keep it by her phone, and every year we design her a new set. It makes such a great gift because it's so versatile, and can be given to anyone special in your life.
