Measuring Tape Father’s Day Gift & Printable

measuring tape gift |

Okay, one more Father's Day idea!  This is really simple, but SO fun.  Along with a couple of other girls that I work with at church, we wanted to give all the dads in our church a small gift.   Enter in...the measuring tape!  It's a staple in every workshop and toolbox, and we think they are going to love it! We're girls...we had to cute-ify it, right?  ☺ Don't you love it? Okay, here are all the details... 1.  The measuring tape came from Party City, and they were 99 cents each.  My darling friend traveled to several stores to get as many as we needed, and she discovered that they might not be the same price at each store.  She did get the prices matched, but I wanted to pass … [Read more...]

d is for dad paper sack cards |

I've had a bunch of requests for the Father's Day paper sack printables, and I'm happy to oblige.  :) In case you didn't see the original post, these are based on my Paper Sack Mother's Day Cards, and you can find a complete tutorial HERE. I love these just has much when they're made for dads and grandpas, because I'm in love with the questions kids are able to answer. When I did this with the kids at church for the moms, I laughed and cried (silently, of course) as I read some of their answers. SO sweet. SO funny.   I've included questions and printables for both dads and grandpas! Just like the Mother's Day Paper Sack Cards, these can be made for one dad or grandpa, or 100+!  Great for … [Read more...]

father's day printable |

With Father's Day right around the corner, I wanted to come up with a fun idea for the kids at our church to give to their dads. I loved this Father's Day printable, and I took it and changed it up to make it work for 150+ kids. I'm in love with how it turned out, and it's darling whether it's for one dad or 500!    Isn't it darling?  I think the dads are going to love it! I'm going to have them each write a little note or draw a picture on the back to personalize it.  So fun!! (click HERE to download image without watermark) It's incredibly easy to put together...just print, cut out, distress edges (if you want to), then use a piece of double stick tape to attach a Hershey kiss.  I … [Read more...]

Y'all know how much I love personalizing anything and everything, and what could be better than a darling key chain?  (I sound so Texan with that "y'all", don't I?  ☺ )  As soon as I saw the new chipboard by Silhouette, I knew it would be the perfect way to make one! Seriously people, isn't that SO cute??!!!  I just want to carry around my keys all day!  The front has darling scrapbook paper embellished with my stamped initial, and the back features a picture of my kids, which I LOVE.  (It's missing baby Caroline...time for an update!!!) These are super easy to make, and make the best gifts.  Think Mother's Day, Father's Day (not as cute-sy, of course), birthdays, teachers, Christmas … [Read more...]

Paper Sack Mother’s Day Card: a Child’s Q&A

paper sack mother's day cards |

At my church, I get to work with the Primary children (kids aged 3-11), and I LOVE it. Mother's Day is just a few short weeks away, and this week I designed a super fun card that I think all their moms are going to love! I wanted to make a card where they could each express some favorite things about their mom.  I was talking to one of my best friends this week, and she reminded me of an idea that I have actually loved for a long fact, my oldest son wrote a card like it for me when he was in preschool, and it's one of my most treasured possessions.  Asking a child questions about their mom--some funny, others serious--and putting it all together in a cute package was just what I … [Read more...]

{you’re special…birthday jar}

you're special birthday mason jar

One of my best friends in all the world had a birthday this week.  And not just any birthday...the big 30!!!!  I left her 6 months ago when we moved to Texas, and I was SO sad that I was going to miss this milestone. I knew I wanted to send her something to really celebrate this particular birthday, and let her know how special she is to me.  So...I made her a birthday jar! It's just a simple pint-size mason jar, but it's what's inside that really counts.  Tucked away inside the jar are 30 things (one for each year) about her that I love---special memories, characteristics, qualities, talents, and all those things that make a friendship what they are.  I thought it was the perfect way to … [Read more...]

{fabric handled buckets}

fabric handles 4 title

I just love little buckets!  They are one of my favorite ways to give a small gift, or package a yummy treat for a friend or neighbor.  You can find them really cheap--my most successful places to check are in the Target one spot, or at the dollar store--both places they are only $1! Using fabric, or even ribbon, as a handle adds the most charming detail to any small pail or bucket ( LOVE those little knots on the sides), and it's an easy way to add in some color to match any holiday or season.  This black and white polka dot is perfect for Halloween, but how fun would this be for Christmas, filled with yummy treats for neighbor gifts?  Easter, Valentine's Day, 4th of July...they would be … [Read more...]

Handprint Aprons {Mother’s Day}

mother's day handprint apron |

Sometimes it seems like the years past faster than the days do, and capturing little handprints are like freezing a moment in time. When my oldest was small, I made an apron with his handprint on it for my dad for Father's Day.  I still LOVE seeing his tiny little hand on that apron.  ♥ This year it was grandmas' turn... I love how these Handprint Aprons turned out! This is an easy and super fun project---the hardest part will be trying to get the handprints in the right places with a minimum of wiggling! I love gifts that the kids can contribute to, and it created some really great family time. {SUPPLIES} canvas apron fabric paint (make sure it's washable!) fabric, matching … [Read more...]

{wood photo displays}

cube first snow 2 copy

I don't know about you, but as soon as November 1st hits, it's full steam ahead for Christmas gifts and projects. So, I pulled out my trusty 2x4s and 4x4 posts, and went to work!2x4 Photo Block 2x4's are great because they'll give you more surface space if you need it. I was able to use pictures that wouldn't have worked on the photo cube, and still have space for the paper and text. These are perfect for personalizing, which makes them such great gifts. Whether it's dates, places, names, monograms, quotes, or handwritten notes from kids, you can make it extra special for the person you're giving it to. The fact that they are SO easy and inexpensive is the icing on the cake! I didn't … [Read more...]

I {love} to give personalized gifts.  There is just something about receiving a gift that you know was made just for you, and giving one is even more fun! Personalized notepaper is actually one of my most favorite gifts to give, and the most requested from my mom. She {loves} to keep it by her phone, and every year we design her a new set.  It makes such a great gift because it's so versatile, and can be given to anyone special in your life.  Parents, grandparents, teachers (HOW fun to have each child in the class sign their name for the design, with the teacher's name at the top!!!), friends...the list goes on and on.Whether it's Mother's Day, Father's Day, Teacher Appreciation … [Read more...]
