I hosted a book exchange party a few weeks ago, and it was SO SO fun.  It's been one of my favorite parties over the years, and I was excited to have new friends over and carry on the tradition here.  I promise I will share all the details about the party soon, but today I'm sharing the easy & adorable DIY bookmarks I made for the party favors.  SO easy, SO fast, and SO dang cute!

Picture ABC Books

One of my absolute favorite things to make for my kids is Picture ABC Books. I make them each their very own book, and it is most definitely a treasured possession. In their book, each letter of the alphabet is represented by a picture of them or someone in our family, so it's not a only a great way to reinforce the ABC's, but also an adorable little mini scrapbook. This month is my twin boys' birthday, and it's their turn for this very special gift!

When I found out we were expecting our first baby, the very first thing I bought was a board book. I love to read, and I couldn't wait to read to my own little one. Over the years we've added kids and board books to our family, and I'm excited to share our BEST board books with you!

DIY Ruler Growth Chart | simplykierste.com

Easy DIY Ruler Growth Chart

I'm in charge of our Super Saturday at our church this year, which is a big group of ladies getting together to make really fun crafts and projects. It's so fun for me, because it's two of my passions together---creating and talking.  ☺  One of the things I wanted to do this year was make a Ruler Growth Chart.  I LOVE them, and I knew it would appeal to a lot of people.  When it comes to choosing projects for Super Saturday or any craft group, there are several things that I always consider:

1.  It can be totally completed in the time frame we have (what's worse than going home with unfinished projects that are just going to sit in your closet???)

2.  It's appropriate for all skill levels.  Not that everyone doesn't have the ability, just may not have the experience.

3. It will have a wide appeal.

This ruler growth chart met all of those requirements, and best of all, it is SO SO easy,  Seriously.  It's also really reasonable--it's less than $15 to make!!

Dry Erase Activity Book | simplykierste.com

Dry Erase Activity Books

I don't know about you, but I am always looking for something to keep my kids quiet and occupied during church,  while traveling, and any other time we have to wait anywhere for any length of time.  I've got some busy kiddos, and I'm sure the people in the church pews in back and in front of us appreciate the effort.  :)

When I came across this darling dry erase quiet book by icandy handmade, I thought it was brilliant, and couldn't wait to make some of my own.  Instead of using a binder, and sliding coloring and workbook pages inside sheet protectors (which is a great idea), I decided to make them differently, for a couple of reasons.  First of all, I wanted mine to be smaller, so they would fit more easily in a diaper bag, purse, or church bag. I also wasn't sure how long the sheet protectors would hold up with my four little kiddos, and since they aren't super durable, I wanted to try a different method. I created half sheets, laminated them, and used book rings to hold them together.  I bought some dry erase crayons to use with it, and I wish I would  have bought them sooner. I LOVE LOVE how they turned out, and my kids are crazy over them. It's a hit!
