Hello there, fall!! It was a cool 59 degrees today, and I had my windows wide open, just soaking in all that lovely fall smell. It's going to get warmer this week again, but this little taste of fall definitely has me on the countdown. Fall brings on the beginning of the holidays, and most definitely my favorite time of year. It's full of friends, family, and giving!
There are always fun opportunities to give gifts during these fall and winter months, and I always love easy gift ideas, especially ones that will fit a budget. I've also discovered that a cute tag makes ALL the difference--add it to any gift, and it goes from drab to fab! I created a darling printable tag that's perfect for any fall gift!
Four years ago I ran my first marathon. It was one of the most challenging and most rewarding things I've ever done. Nine months before that, my second set of twins were almost a year old, and I really wanted to get back in shape. My best friend asked me if I wanted to do a half marathon, and I actually laughed! I've always played sports, but pretty much had the mentality that there was no reason to run unless you were chasing a ball. :) I decided to take her up on it, and in ten weeks, I ran my first half marathon. Then the crazy idea to run a marathon became a reality just six months later. In nine months I went from running a couple of miles to running a full marathon, and while I'm not the fastest girl out there, I did discover what I can do when I make a goal and work hard. I absolutely know that I couldn't have done it without the support of my family, without my best friend (some of our long runs will forever be a part of my fondest memories), or without my closest friends cheering me on.
The day of the race, one of those wonderful friends gave us the cutest gift. I was feeling so nervous, and just that small and simple gesture gave me a boost that I so appreciated. Yes, it was kind of cheesy, but I loved it, and now when I want to cheer someone on, give them a little boost, and remind them that "you can do it", this is a gift I love to give.
This darling "You are Sweet" Valentine's Day treat jar fits into my favorite simple + cute category. With my free printable tag, you can put it together in just minutes!
This cute gift is perfect for friends, neighbors, co-workers, teachers, and more! It would also be a great favor for a Valentine's Day party. Anyone would love to receive this fun jar, so if there's someone in your life you want to thank, or let them know how special they are to you, this is a good place to start.

I hosted a book exchange party a few weeks ago, and it was SO SO fun. It's been one of my favorite parties over the years, and I was excited to have new friends over and carry on the tradition here. I promise I will share all the details about the party soon, but today I'm sharing the easy & adorable DIY bookmarks I made for the party favors. SO easy, SO fast, and SO dang cute!
I've always loved to tuck in a note with my kids' school lunches. Sometimes it's a quickly scribbled message written on a napkin or post-it note--whatever I have time for in the early morning rush. This year I created some really fun Lunchbox Love Notes, free printable labels that I can quickly peel off and place on a paper sack lunch, sandwich bag, or lunch container!
Can I just say that chocolate-dipped fortune cookies are SUPER yummy? ☺ I work with the young children at my church, and we like to have the kids give something to their moms on Mother's Day. I've always loved the fortune cookie gift idea, and I thought it would be perfect for all of the lovely mothers of our cute Primary kids. We have almost 200 kids, so we always need to come up with something that will work for a large group. That's one of the reasons I love this idea so much--it's easily adaptable for numbers--whether you need a bunch of them, or just a few, it works! And the tags...once I got started I couldn't stop! I made some for mothers, grandmothers, friends, and even visiting teachers.
It's the 10th day of the month, which means the 10 Bloggers Blog Hop! I've gathered my creative blogging friends, and this begins our 11th month with this collaboration. We had so much fun with it the past 10 months, we decided to take it another round. One friend needed to part ways, so we added the amazingly talented Chelsea from Two Twenty One to the mix. If you've missed the past ten months of fun, please check them out! This month we came up with a PASTEL theme to create projects around, since SPRING is upon us! I created some darling Friendship Tags in fun spring colors, and you'll find all the details below!
Are you ready to get into SPRING mode? All of these darling projects and yummy treats are sure to do that!
I'm a big believer in thank you notes. And thank you treats. ☺
This technologically savvy world we live in has provided us with super fast ways to communicate, including text and e-mail, but when it comes to saying thank you, nothing beats a hand-written thank you note. I'm talking about a good, old fashioned, lick the envelope, put a stamp on the front and drop it in the mailbox kind of note. Isn't it the BEST feeling when you check the mail, and find a letter addressed to you that's not junk mail or a bill? Something meant just for you?
At my church, I get to work with the Primary children (kids aged 3-11), and I LOVE it. Mother's Day is just a few short weeks away, and this week I designed a super fun card that I think all their moms are going to love! I wanted to make a card where they could each express some favorite things about their mom. I was talking to one of my best friends this week, and she reminded me of an idea that I have actually loved for a long time...in fact, my oldest son wrote a card like it for me when he was in preschool, and it's one of my most treasured possessions. Asking a child questions about their mom--some funny, others serious--and putting it all together in a cute package was just what I was looking for! .
Skittles are perfect for St. Patrick's Day...all those rainbow colors! I paired them with one of my personal favorites, gold-wrapped Rolos for a super fun gift...for friends, neighbors, teachers, and more! I also created a fun tag, and free printable, just for you!!!
One of my best friends in all the world had a birthday this week. And not just any birthday...the big 30!!!! I left her 6 months ago when we moved to Texas, and I was SO sad that I was going to miss this milestone. I knew I wanted to send her something to really celebrate this particular birthday, and let her know how special she is to me. So...I made her a birthday jar!
