I'm so excited to introduce Kiki Comin, from Kiki and Company as a new Simply Kierste contributor. I absolutely have adored her from the minute I met her last year, and I know you will too. She's extremely talented, and such a genuine person--I just love her! Her printables have always been some of my very favorites, and she will be sharing some here each month! Please go say hello to her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram too!
Hi everyone! I am so happy to be here sharing a fun printable with you every month. My name is Kiki from Kiki and Company. I first met Kierste last year at SNAP (a blogging conference) and we became instant friends. She is amazing, so I feel blessed to share here on her blog.So the first thing you will get to know about me is that I have a whole gaggle of kids (5 of them!). They keep me on my toes and keep me inspired from day to day. I LOVE being a mom and coming up with ways to make life exciting and fresh for them. Easter is in just a few days, so I wanted to share a really fun printable for a last minute surprise. I still have a few kiddos who believe in the Easter Bunny and as long as I have kids who believe, I have to make it magical! Each year, even my oldest who don't believe are stumped by the Easter Bunny who leaves droppings (m&m's and jellybeans) all around the house and out the door to where he disappears. They are so excited to see what the Easter Bunny has to say to them and look forward to letters from him. So this year, we are getting official with Official Easter Bunny Stationary!
Okay, I admit it. I'm not a huge fan of Peeps, and they've never really been my favorite. However...my kids love them, and so we usually have them around Easter, and today I had some out for another project I'm working on. At the same time my kids happened to be begging for the open bag of chocolate chips in the pantry, AND I had a bag of lollipop sticks on the counter that were ready to be put away. What happened next is what I'm calling kismet. Chocolate-Covered Peeps Pops.
Have you tried the new Lemon Oreos? Oh my goodness, they are SO yummy! I'm just slightly obsessed with all things lemon, so I was really excited to see them. My favorite way to eat Oreos is actually as an Oreo Truffle. (Which if you haven't tried, you need to head straight to your to-do list and add it immediately.) When I saw the new lemon flavor, I knew exactly what I wanted to make...Lemon Oreo Truffles. They did not disappoint! Dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with lemon zest, they're perfect for spring and Easter!
We're into snacks at our house. There might be three main meals, but there are at least 42 other times in the day that my kids want to eat. My baby (yes, she's almost two, but she's my baby!!) asks every 5 seconds for a "nack", and I pretty much always acquiesce. If you saw her cute face, I bet you would too! When the holidays come around, I love to do simple snacks for our own little celebration, and with Easter coming, that means it's time for our favorite Bunny Bait Trail Mix!
It's now March, which means I'm on the countdown to SPRING!!! Easter is in a month, and all of a sudden everything lemon, pastel, and everything spring is calling my name. On my list of favorite spring things is a collection of spring fonts that are perfect for creating darling printables and tags, spring & easter holiday projects, home decor, and more!
Ah, spring is in the air and what's more springy than sweet bunnies? I created a darling Bunny Tail Bingo game that's perfect for entertaining kids in the classroom, at parties, or at home during this spring and Easter season!
I tell you, this is the time I start really craving lemon! Spring, I love you! After making Lemon Bread last week, I'm on a mission to try some old favorites and some new potential favorite lemon recipes. I've searched for Yummy Lemon Recipes that I'm dying to try, and wanted to pass them along to you!
We are a cookie-loving family, and we love lots of different mix-ins. This week I bought a bag of Easter M&M's, and my boys were eager to help me mix up a batch of our favorite cookies this week. I was more than happy to oblige. ☺ Instead of just adding in the candy as it is, I like to "smash" them up first. It gives the cookies tons of little flecks of chocolate throughout them, plus small and large chunks of chocolate and candy pieces. We LOVE Smashed M&M Cookies!
When I saw this idea to mail Easter eggs, I immediately fell in love with it, and REALLY wanted to try it. I have to admit though, I was kind of skeptical. I mean, how often do you see Easter eggs go through the mail? I knew my kids would L.O.V.E to get them--they are always asking if there is anything in the mailbox for them, so how exciting to not only get something with their name on it, but something SUPER fun! So...I decided to put it to the test. SO glad I did--it worked!!! :)
With 9 days to go before my baby arrives, I'm trying to get everything in order for Easter. Some things we'll still do Easter weekend, and others we're doing just a bit earlier, to make sure we won't miss them due to all the excitement headed our way next week!
Tonight we're coloring eggs for Family Night, and the eggs are boiling away on the stove. It's one of my favorite Easter activities to do with my kids, and they always love it. I'm kind of a low maintenance girl when it comes to dyeing Easter eggs. I love doing things that are easy, don't require a lot of supplies, but are creative and fun. I've seen some fabulous ideas out there--beautiful and intricate and lovely--but those are ones that I'll save for myself to do! Simple is still my favorite way to go, especially when it comes to kids. I've collected some really great ideas that I've come across and loved--that are either specifically for kids, or are easily adapted to be so. Most of them require few supplies but lots of creativity...PERFECT!
