You probably all know by now how much I love polka dots and stripes. I've used them in lots of my projects, with two of my favorites being Peppermint Striped Candlesticks and Striped & Polka Dot Pumpkins. I love them so much that I simply couldn't resist making a set in brown & white for Thanksgiving table centerpieces. They're easy, adorable, and really inexpensive--three of my favorite things!
Hello there, fall!! It was a cool 59 degrees today, and I had my windows wide open, just soaking in all that lovely fall smell. It's going to get warmer this week again, but this little taste of fall definitely has me on the countdown. Fall brings on the beginning of the holidays, and most definitely my favorite time of year. It's full of friends, family, and giving!
There are always fun opportunities to give gifts during these fall and winter months, and I always love easy gift ideas, especially ones that will fit a budget. I've also discovered that a cute tag makes ALL the difference--add it to any gift, and it goes from drab to fab! I created a darling printable tag that's perfect for any fall gift!
With all of our things still in storage, I really
needed wanted to make a few fall decorations. Okay, so I would have made them anyway. :) Anything pumpkins, apples, or fall calls my name, so I decided to start there, and made these adorable farmstyle wood fall signs using pieces of scrap wood. I absolutely love how they turned out, and best of all, they're super easy to make!
I absolutely adore fall. It is my most favorite season, and I look forward to it all year long. The crisp mornings, yummy smells, brilliant leaves, cozy sweaters, warm fires, football games, pumpkin patches, cider mills, apple picking, bonfires, trick-or-treating, roasting pumpkin seeds, carving pumpkins...there just really isn't anything about it that I don't love.
Making a fall bucket list is a great way to really celebrate autumn, and it lets you take a look at fall as a whole--all the wonderful things there are to do and see! Fall means the start of the holidays, more time spent with family and friends, and the best four months of the year!
And so it begins.
I was doing my calendaring for the week, and realized that our summer is quickly coming to close, and that the craziness and busy-ness of school and fall are upon us. Even though we have a few weeks before school starts, I have several kids playing soccer, and the season is in full swing starting this week. It means 4-5 times a week of being out of the house in the evening, and limited time to make and serve dinner. I know I will need to rely on my crockpot a lot, so I can serve yummy, healthy dinners to my family without spending a lot of time in the kitchen.
I gathered some of the most mouthwatering, family-friendly (or anyone friendly) slow cooker recipes I could find, and you can bet they will be on my menu starting...now! Everything from fajitas to one-pot chicken dinners is on this list, and I hope they'll help you with your busy schedules too!
I know many of you are looking forward to this weekend's Super Bowl, and getting together with family and friends to watch the game, eat, and hang out. However, I am looking forward to this weekend for a completely separate and superior reason...my husband will be home from a two week international trip. I think a massage is calling my name, and probably a pedicure too. We are all so ready to have him home! That said, we are a football family, and love watching games together. Of course snacks and food are involved, and I'm all about simple . One of my kids' favorite snacks is popcorn, and it's a popular and fun thing to munch on during a game. In my quest to come up with something cute for the popcorn to go in, I made (seriously) the easiest and most adorable football paper sacks to hold popcorn and snacks.
It’s the 10th of the month which means another fabulous themed roundup from this talented bunch of bloggers! This month’s theme is pumpkin– recipes, crafts, and more. I love seeing how each blogger takes the theme and runs with it, and this month is no different. After you check out my Pumpkin Crumb Cake, be sure to check out what everyone else is sharing as well!
Okay, so I'm totally admitting to you that pumpkin is usually not my favorite--pumpkin pie I just can't do. But...this Pumpkin Crumb Cake is so yummy, that even if you're not a pumpkin fan, if anything will change your mind, this will! If you already love pumpkin, then this is a must-try!
Whether you live where it's cold or hot, fall arrives and soups and stews become irresistible. One of our favorites this fall is Hearty Oven Beef Stew, and it's seriously the best beef stew I've ever had. It's thick with chunks of meat and vegetables, with a rich, delicious flavor. It's a simple, rustic stew that doesn't disappoint.
Who loves fall? ME!!!!! It's always been my favorite, and seriously can't wait for the fall here in upstate New York. I love the crisp mornings, cozy sweaters, vibrant leaf colors, pumpkin patches, cider mills, and of course, the yummy food. Today I'm sharing one of our family's all-time favorite fall recipes, Cinnamon Swirl Cake. You are going to love me (or hate me, because you're going to want to eat it all!) for this! It really is DIVINE!
Because I am your friend, I'm going to share with you the most divine way to dress up your pancakes possible. It's called Cinnamon Roll Pancake Sauce, and your life is never going to be the same.
When it's chilly, I could eat soup every single day. I love using my crockpot to make soup, because I can put it in in the morning or early afternoon, and it's done by dinnertime. Soup is cozy, and it's the epitome of fall and winter. Now that it's September (yay!), I thought I would put together a collaboration of yummy crockpot soup recipes, and include the ones that caught my eye!
Okay, you guys, it's MOVING week!! The movers are coming today, and we will be on our way to the lovely state of New York! We are all just so excited to get there, start exploring the area, and find out all about the kids' new schools. The first day of school is always exciting at our house, and I created a set of darling free Back to School printables to add to that fun first of school picture.
Back to School time has been one of my favorite times of year since I was small. The smell of new clothes, new pencils all sharpened and lined up in a pencil box, a backpack hung up and ready to go, all the wondering about the new teacher and all the kids in class--all of these things still make me excited! Just the sight of all of the school supplies on the store shelves makes me happy. My kids are already picking out their new backpacks, and imagining what their new school in New York will be like. So...as we are enjoying every last bit of the summer, we are also counting down to the start of SCHOOL! To help us, I created a fun Chalkboard Back to School Countdown!
Nothing beat hot cider on a chilly day! Autumn Punch is a fall, winter, and holiday staple at our house. I love serving it to my own family, guests, at parties, and really anytime I get the chance!
Move over, caramel dip!! I absolutely adore caramel dip, but this toffee apple dip has long been a favorite of mine. It's incredibly easy to make (we're talking 3 minutes), and you just can't go wrong with anything made with cream cheese. ☺ It's intended for apples, but (if you're my husband) you might just eat it with a spoon!
