Favorite farmware…and where to find it!

favorite farmware |

I am in love with all things farmhouse, and I'm always on the lookout for decor that fits my farmhouse style.  I've come across some great sites through my searching, and discovered some of my favorite farmware that I want to share with you today...and also where to get them! What I love about just about every one of these items is that they can cross style genres--industrial, traditional, coastal--and can fit into so many different types of spaces. I absolutely love each of these! Wire baskets // Boxwood wreath // 3-tier metal stand // Ribbed creamware batter bowl // Vintage metal scale clock // White pitcher // Galvanized cake stand // Enamel bread box // Nesting herb crates // … more

Easy peanut butter cup brownies

Peanut Butter Cup Brownies |

I helped organize a cake auction fundraiser for our church youth group a few weeks ago, and few received some amazing cakes and pies to auction off.  There was one cake in particular that caught my son's eye from the very beginning--a peanut butter and chocolate cake topped with chopped Reese's PB cups and a chocolate ganache.  Unfortunately, despite battling long and hard, we lost the bid to another family. He was pretty sad, but to make him feel better, I told him I would recreate it for him. I decided Father's Day would be the perfect time to make it, because Reese's is my husband's absolute favorite candy, and I knew he would love it too.  I was right--it was a hit! I did decide to … more

Keep your car smelling fresh with PERK!

PERK Visor Wrap |

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of PERK. All opinions are 100% mine. ----- I love getting into my car and having it smell really good.  It makes such a big difference to have a car air freshener that helps with all the smells of everyday life that filter into the car, like my boys, when they get in the car after a baseball game.  That's definitely not I want to be smelling! So how do I get a great fresh-smelling car? I've been using PERK car air fresheners for over a year now, and I love them just as much now as I did in the beginning.  I was thrilled to hear that they have a brand new product that delivers the same consistent, high quality fragrance and still features … more

Vintage lemonade stand with reversible chalkboard sign

Vintage lemonade stand with reversible chalkboard sign |

Making a lemonade stand has been on my list...pretty much forever.  The last few years we've been so transient that it wasn't really an option--with no where to store it and moves coming up.  Even though all of our things are in storage right now, we did keep out the chop saw so that we would be able to build things for our new house.  With summer parties and entertaining on the horizon, I decided it was finally time for a lemonade stand!  I'm calling it a lemonade stand just because I'm not sure what else to call it, and because it just sounds cuter, but it will mostly be used as a outside serving station. I added a few features, including a reversible chalkboard sign, and decided on a … more

Introducing Nauzene® Kids…liquid nausea relief for the whole family!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Nauzene Kids . All opinions are 100% mine. ----- Whenever my little ones have an upset tummy, I usually feel pretty helpless.  You can give different medicines for headaches and fever, but a heating pad and a comfy place to rest are generally my best options for a stomach that aches.  When I got the opportunity to try Nauzene Kids , I jumped at the chance, and it ended up being perfect (but not so perfect) timing.                                                         Last week, one of my girls stayed home from school with a tummy ache, and she was curled up on the couch, very uncomfortable. That very morning, a package containing … more

Peanut butter & jelly bars

PB & J Cookie Bars |

Hello, it's Kara, from Creations by Kara!  Some people may think PB & J's are just for kids, but I still enjoy one every now and then. Do you still love a good peanut butter sandwich? My very favorite is one made with homemade wheat bread, creamy peanut butter, and homemade raspberry jam. So yummy. If you enjoy PB J's, you should really give these Peanut Butter & Jelly Bars a try! They start with a simple shortbread crust, then they have a layer of jam and peanut butter chips, topped with more buttery crust. Served warm they are an ooey gooey treat that is rich and delicious. After cooled down, they are crunchy and chewy with a gooey layer in the middle. I like them best … more

Save your sanity with a “before you can play” chore list!

"Before you can play" summer chore chart |

Every summer morning I hear the words "can I play?", in one form or another.  They might be referring to going outside to play, having friends over, wanting me to take them somewhere, requesting screen time, or  any number of things that's on their agenda that day.  I got really tired of listing the things off that they needed to do before they could play (even though they already knew), that I decided to make things easier for not only myself, but for the kids too, by making a summer "before you can play" chore list.  I hung it on the fridge, and when they want to know if they can play, I just ask if they have everything done on the list! Love! We have a regular chore chart that we … more

Frozen chocolate mousse squares

Frozen chocolate mousse bites |

Silky. Creamy. Rich. Velvety. Melt-in-your-mouth. DIVINE!!!  Frozen Chocolate Mousse Bites have long been one of my favorite things, and they're always a hit whenever I take them. They're tiny little bundles of double chocolate-y goodness--a delightful chocolate mousse on the top with a chocolate cookie crust on the bottom.  A perfect summertime confection! They're so easy to make, which I'm always a fan of. Pop then in the freezer, and keep them there until you're ready to serve!  I I love cutting them in small squares, and sticking paper straws in the top.  It makes them easy to serve, and extra cute. :) You might spy a little bit of green in the crust, and that's because I used … more
