Any excuse I can get to combine three things that I love--milk bottles, chocolate, and baker's twine--I take full advantage of it. These Valentine treat jars do just that, and they're the most darling way to tell someone "you're sweet". They're super easy to make, and the peek-a-boo heart is absolutely adorable!
Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderfully merry Christmas with your family and friends! We've had such a lovely holiday, and received such thoughtful gifts from family and friends. On our list this week is sending thank you letters, and I created some adorable Christmas thank you stationery for my kids to use. They love having a fun template, and I wanted to share it with all of you too!
Did December sneak up on anyone else? All of a sudden, Christmas is less than four weeks away, and I don't know how it happened! There just seem to be years that are busier than others, for me, this is most definitely one of them. My book manuscript is due in a few weeks, and we are starting to really get into house stuff, so I kind of feel like this month is going to be a blur!
I love giving gifts to the people in my life, but since time is always a factor (especially this year), I'm all about fun & easy & cute ideas that I can put together quickly. This popcorn gift idea fits the bill, and is something that can be given to friends, neighbors, teachers, your hairstylist, postal carrier...anyone!
You probably know by now that I love simple the most. Quick, easy, and adorable is my mantra, and I'm always looking for gift ideas that fit all of those criteria. Even better is when they are cost-efficient, and this darling Candy Bar Mummy is all of them!
Hello there, fall!! It was a cool 59 degrees today, and I had my windows wide open, just soaking in all that lovely fall smell. It's going to get warmer this week again, but this little taste of fall definitely has me on the countdown. Fall brings on the beginning of the holidays, and most definitely my favorite time of year. It's full of friends, family, and giving!
There are always fun opportunities to give gifts during these fall and winter months, and I always love easy gift ideas, especially ones that will fit a budget. I've also discovered that a cute tag makes ALL the difference--add it to any gift, and it goes from drab to fab! I created a darling printable tag that's perfect for any fall gift!
I absolutely adore fall. It is my most favorite season, and I look forward to it all year long. The crisp mornings, yummy smells, brilliant leaves, cozy sweaters, warm fires, football games, pumpkin patches, cider mills, apple picking, bonfires, trick-or-treating, roasting pumpkin seeds, carving pumpkins...there just really isn't anything about it that I don't love.
Making a fall bucket list is a great way to really celebrate autumn, and it lets you take a look at fall as a whole--all the wonderful things there are to do and see! Fall means the start of the holidays, more time spent with family and friends, and the best four months of the year!
I was at Target (of course) and saw the cutest notebook paper treat bags. I immediately thought how fun they would be for all things school, and at first thought I would buy up a bunch to keep for throughout the year. But I would have to spend a fortune to do it, and I didn't really want to do that. Then I remembered I already had some plain white treat bags at home, and realized it would be super easy for me to make my own DIY version, anytime I needed them!
Four years ago I ran my first marathon. It was one of the most challenging and most rewarding things I've ever done. Nine months before that, my second set of twins were almost a year old, and I really wanted to get back in shape. My best friend asked me if I wanted to do a half marathon, and I actually laughed! I've always played sports, but pretty much had the mentality that there was no reason to run unless you were chasing a ball. :) I decided to take her up on it, and in ten weeks, I ran my first half marathon. Then the crazy idea to run a marathon became a reality just six months later. In nine months I went from running a couple of miles to running a full marathon, and while I'm not the fastest girl out there, I did discover what I can do when I make a goal and work hard. I absolutely know that I couldn't have done it without the support of my family, without my best friend (some of our long runs will forever be a part of my fondest memories), or without my closest friends cheering me on.
The day of the race, one of those wonderful friends gave us the cutest gift. I was feeling so nervous, and just that small and simple gesture gave me a boost that I so appreciated. Yes, it was kind of cheesy, but I loved it, and now when I want to cheer someone on, give them a little boost, and remind them that "you can do it", this is a gift I love to give.
