We are a hot chocolate family. We drink it on a pretty regular basis through the winter, and at least once a week, my kids come bursting through the door from school asking me if I made it for them. While we do use hot chocolate mix sometimes, and definitely for single-serving convenience, I make homemade hot chocolate the majority of the time. It just takes a few minutes, and it is so worth it! It's also fun to experiment with different flavors, and this week I tried a Toasted Coconut flavor that is TO-DIE-FOR good.
We are such a hot chocolate family! I don't think many days pass through the holiday and winter season where my kids aren't asking me to make hot chocolate...and I oblige quite often. One of my favorite versions is Mexican Hot Chocolate. The added cinnamon and nutmeg brings a depth of flavor that is deep and rich, and accents the chocolate. It's SO delicious, and easy!
I love simple and adorable neighbor gifts, and this one is not only darling, but takes no time at all! Give your neighbors, friends, and teachers a cozy Peppermint Hot Chocolate Kit--I'm sharing a free printable today!
One of my favorite Christmas gift ideas is Snowman Soup! It's so darling, easy to put together, and perfect for neighbors, teachers, friends, co-workers, and more!
Our weather is finally starting to cool off, and I am in HEAVEN. I've missed the crisp mornings and evenings so much since moving from Michigan, and so since the temps have gone lower, I am so happy. It also means that I start baking like crazy (why is it that the weather does that to me??), and thinking about some of our winter favorites. One of those that top the list is Homemade Hot Chocolate. I grew up with hot chocolate being homemade--I don't think I even knew what a packet of it was (what, you just add water??) until I was in high school or later. I do use the packets sometimes now for convenience, but nothing beats the homemade version.
