Apple Caramel Dip Teacher Gift

We have a tradition of giving teachers an apple-themed gift on the first day of school. Nothing fancy, just a simple something to say that we are excited for the school year, and to show our gratitude for all the hours they’ve already put in.  I’ve done several different things, like Apple Mason Jars, or Apple Handsoap, and Caramel Apples.  This year I decided to do a deconstructed Caramel Apple, and give Caramel Dip and an apple, tied up with a cute tag and bakers twine.  It turned out so cute–we can’t wait to give this Apple Caramel Dip Teacher Gift on the first day of school!

APPLE CARAMEL DIP TEACHER GIFT

SUPPLIES: (affiliate links used below)

–mason jars

-apples

-caramel dip (see recipe below)

-printable (download below)

-hole punch

–bakers twine or ribbon

–green patterned or solid scrapbook paper

-double stick tape

DIRECTIONS:

1.  Make caramel, pour into jars, and let cool.
2. Print tag on to white cardstock; punch a hole in the corner.
3. Set an apple on top of the mason jar, then tie the baker’s twine around both of them together, and sliding on the tag.
4. Cut a leaf out of green patterned or solid scrapbook paper, and attach to the tag with double stick tape.

You could also totally use store-bought caramel dip, or even caramel sauce and use it instead!

Ingredients

 

• 3/4 c. brown sugar
• ½ c. sugar
• 1/2 c. corn syrup
• 1/2 c. butter
• 2/3 c. whipping cream
• Dash of salt

Instructions

• Mix all ingredients in a large saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a full boil —around 5 or 6 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool, then pour it into a jar. Refrigerate until ready to serve!
• *Makes about 2 ½-3 c.
