Farm Fresh Christmas Trees Sign + Free Cut File
I have wanted a Christmas Trees sign forever, and I finally got around to making one this year for Old Salt Farm. I LOVE it! It’s the perfect addition to my dining room and kitchen area, and adds such fun vintage charm to the space.  I’m excited to share not only the tutorial today, but the free  cut file too!

FARM FRESH CHRISTMAS TREES SIGN
SUPPLIES:
(affiliate links included below!)
- -MDF, cut to 2 ft. x 3 ft.
- -furring strips
- -stain
- -white paint
- -black paint
- –vinyl stencil
- -sander
DIRECTIONS:
-  Stain the MDF and let dry, then paint it white. Stain the furring strips and let dry.
- Apply the stencil to the board, and use a foam brush to apply the black paint. I used all black because that’s the look I was going for, Â but you could always paint the trees green and the lettering red…it would be super cute too!
- Once the paint is dry, sand as desired.
- Cut the furring strips into four pieces, in lengths that will fit around the MDF. Â For more detailed directions on this step, see my Farmhouse Sign Post!

I have both the Silhouette Studio cut files, as well as SVG files for Cricut users. Â I don’t know much about Cricut machines, so I have no idea how to tell you to use the file, lol, but hopefully it helps! :)
There are actually two files, because the sign is much bigger than the 12 inch cutting capability. Once I had cut both files, I used scissors to separate the four main components of the sign: each line of text and the christmas trees images. This allowed me to place them on the sign exactly where I wanted them, and to get the spacing just right.

I love your sign. I have a older silhouette machine. Can I still use the file even though I do not have a cameo machine? Thanks.
Yes! The only one you would have to maneuver a little is the Portrait, because it doesn’t cut 12 inch vinyl, but if have any other machine, it will work!

What font did you use for “Christmas Trees”?

Do you know what size you cut your files to? When I download them, they are small. Thanks SO MUCH!
Sure! I just sized them to fit my 36 inch wide board. Christmas Trees = 30 inches, Farm Fresh = 18.5 inches, Pine/Spruce/Fir = 18.75 inches. The three trees together are the same length as the pine/spruce/fir. Hope that helps!!
This is probably a lame question, but I always get hung up on these little details….what white paint do you use for the background?
I’m all about the details too, I get it! The paint is actually leftover wall paint from our house—it’s Decorator White by Benjamin Moore!
