When we moved from Texas to upstate New York, we knew we wanted to build a house…the farmhouse we had been dreaming about for a long time. After a lot of searching and some major disappointments and frustrations, we finally found the perfect spot–nine acres of gorgeous land that included woods and a meadow perfect to nestle a house and raise our family of eight.
It’s been wonderful to finally be able to paint walls, decorate, build and refinish furniture, and tackle home and garden projects. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to do that, and I’ve got a list a mile long!
We broke ground in April of 2016, and moved in that September. We’ve spent the last few years in short-term and temporary housing, made several cross-country moves, and lived in three states in three years, so finally feeling settled is heaven.
I’ve shared the entire building process here–our journey from the ground up, and now everything we do to make it our home. So glad you’re here to share it with us!
